Beaumont, Troy Named To Top 100 Hospitals List
Beaumont Hospital, Troy was recently named one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals by Thomson Reuters. The recognition is based on a hospital’s overall organizational performance. This marks the ninth time Beaumont has been recognized as a top hospital.
The Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals® study evaluates performance in 10 areas: mortality; medical complications; patient safety; average patient stay; expenses; profitability; patient satisfaction; adherence to clinical standards of care; post-discharge mortality; and readmission rates for heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia. The study has been conducted annually since 1993.
“We are so proud that Thomson Reuters has recognized us again,” says Nancy Susick, R.N., president, Beaumont Hospital, Troy. “We have a fantastic team here and this honor is a reflection of our hard work and dedication to providing high quality, high value care.”
Beaumont, Troy was one of 25 hospitals recognized in the “Teaching Hospitals” category.
To conduct the 100 Top Hospitals study, Thomson Reuters researchers evaluated 2,886 short-term, acute care, non-federal hospitals. Results are based on public information including Medicare cost reports; Medicare Provider Analysis and Review data; and core measures and patient satisfaction data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Hospital Compare website. Hospitals do not apply and winners do not pay to market this honor.
The winning hospitals were announced in the April 16 edition of Modern Healthcare magazine.
