At least 10 more chalk artists are needed for the Chalk and Chocolate event being held in downtown Royal Oak from Oct 14-16. Stipend has been raised to $150 for professional artists. There is also interest in graffiti artists.

Chalk art will be created in front of over 30 businesses, including well known restaurants and retailers. The application deadline has been extended to Oct. 5. Please refer to the attached "Call For Artists" pdf for more info.

An ARTISTS MEETING is Scheduled for Today

Time/Date: Today at 10 a.m.

Location: Five15 Cafe at 515 S Washington in Royal Oak. (East side of Washington and South of Sixth Street)

Artists will discuss overall strategy and chalk art techniques. Since this is short notice, another meeting will probably be held after Oct. 5.

Chalk & Chocolate Art Tour

Location: Downtown Royal Oak
Friday Oct. 14 - Sunday Oct. 16
Opening Night Celebration - Oct. 14
Tickets are $20 through Groupon and $40 at the door.

A jury of artists and gallery owners (including I/ACT member Anne Kuffler of Ariana Gallery) will judge the chalk art and award prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in all categories.
