The Royal Oak City Commission will vote to approve appointments to the Royal Oak Commission for the Arts when it meets today at 7:30 p.m. on the third floor of City Hall.
The Commission for the Arts will develop a plan to promote public art in Royal Oak as part of a greater community goal to preserve neighborhoods by encouraging community involvement and family activities.
The Commission for the Arts would be responsible for developing a city policy governing the display of public art, and working with local organizations, businesses, and non-profits to encourage and support arts and cultural development in the City of Royal Oak.
At this time, the proposed Commission will be funded solely through grants, private donations, contributions, and sponsorships.
The proposed appointments for the Commission for the Arts are:

- Jason Gittinger
- Keith Howarth
- Lisa Kimmel
- Camille Lecoutre
- Debra Soverinsky
- Mayor Jim Ellison
