After receiving 64 applicants representing 4 species, 328 comments and 1494 votes cast from here in Royal Oak and all the way to Japan, we now have a winner of the 2012 Royal Oak Community Farm Mascot Contest!

With a total of 182 ‘likes’, the 2012 Royal Oak Community Farm mascot is… the Boston Terrier, Arlo! 

Congratulations to Arlo and his owner Diane Hawkey! Arlo will be leading us in this Saturday’s St. Patrick’s Day parade in downtown Royal Oak and be awarded with a City Farms CSA Half Share.

We’ve had so much fun with the contest.  It’s been a great success.  So, we’d love to have you join us at the parade.  We’d like to invite any of the contestants and their owners and fans of the farm to walk with us tomorrow.  If you’d like to join us we will be meeting at 11 a.m.
