Jason Parrott, a Royal Oak resident and 1996 graduate of Royal Oak Kimball High School, has been named principal of Oak Ridge Elementary School, effective July 1.

Parrott has been assistant principal of Royal Oak Middle School since 2009.  He came to Royal Oak from the Huron Valley School District where he was dean of students at Lakeland High School from 2005-09 and acting associate principal in 2006-07.

He has a bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University with a major in special education and political science and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Wayne State University. He is working on his doctorate of philosophy in research and evaluation from Wayne State University.
