Last Weekend for 'The Tempest'

Shakespeare in the Park is performing the last weekend of shows at Starr-Jaycee Park in Royal Oak.

The Tempest, on tonight and Sunday, tells the tale of Prospero's mystical command of nature, Ariel's magic spells and flying fairies. The actors are equipped with cables for the high-flying dramatic scenes. Read a review.

For performances, guests can bring blankets for near the stage lawn seating, low-to-the-ground lawn chairs or take advantage of the Water Works bleachers. Pre-show picnicking is allowed in the park. Free parking is within walking distance of the stage.

Tickets are $20 for The Tempest and can be pre-purchased by calling the Water Works Theatre Company at 248-399-3727 or online at www.waterworkstheatre.com.
