Due to the extreme heat expected today, the City of Royal Oak has designated the Mahany/Meininger Senior Community Center at 3500 Marais Avenue, the Salter Community Center at 1545 E Lincoln Avenue, and the Royal Oak Public Library at 222 E Eleven Mile as cooling centers.
All centers will be open until 9:00pm today for anyone who needs a place to get out of the heat and relax in an air conditioned environment.
Residents are encouraged to call 911 for an emergency, heat related or otherwise.
