Royal Oak Restaurants Face Off in Chili-Cookoff

The weather may be cooling off, but the Royal Oak Jaycees will bring a little heat to the city with the second annual Royal Oak Chili Cook-Off from 5-9 p.m. Saturday Nov. 19 at the Royal Oak Farmers Market.

Local restaurants, businesses and community organizations will enter their chili into the competition to earn of one of several titles, including Best of the Best, Hottest and Most Creative. Participating restaurants include Lily's Seafood Grill & Brewery, Blackfinn Restaurant and Saloon, the Rock on 3rd and Potbelly Sandwich Works.

The Royal Oak Chili Cook-Off also will include live music, kids activities, a silent auction and local beer from MillKing It Productions.

Tickets to the event cost $5 in advance (available online at royaloakchilicookoff.eventbrite.com) or $8 at the door. Admission includes two chili-tasting tickets. Additional tasting tickets will be available for purchase at the event.

Proceeds from the Royal Oak Chili Cook-Off benefit the Boys & Girls Club of South Oakland County, the Royal Oak Animal Shelter and the Royal Oak Jaycees.
