Service of Remembrance at Sullivan funeral home
- Name: Service of remembrance
- Occasion: For those who have lost a loved one.
William Sullivan & Son Funeral Directors will host a service of remembrance on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. at 705 W. 11 Mile Rd. It will take place in the new ceremonial chapel, completed earlier this month.
The event will include a scripture reading, a message, music and a candle lighting ceremony. It will be led by Rev. Renee Machiniak, pastor at the Church of the Holy City in Royal Oak and chaplain at Beaumont Hospital.
“We will offer a place for people of all faiths, backgrounds and ages who are grieving and need support, whether their loss was recent or long ago,” Machiniak said. “We want to bring light to the darkness, as symbolized by the candle lighting ceremony, so people leave with a feeling of light and hope and comfort.”
The service is open to the public, with advance registration requested at 248-541-7000.
