Stagecrafters at the proudly announces its fifty-seventh season, which opens in July 2012 with the youth theatre production of Bye Bye Birdie. The ambitious 10-production season features a long list of “feel-good” shows which inspired the 2012-2013 theme - “Feel Good, Feel Great.” Stagecrafters makes its home at the Baldwin Theatre, 415 S. Lafayette Ave. in downtown Royal Oak.
The Main Stage season includes the hot-off-Broadway hit, Legally Blonde – The Musical; the hilarious farce, Meanwhile Back on the Couch; the hilarious murder mystery musical, Curtains; the classic comedy, Arsenic and Old Lace; and the all-time family-favorite musical, The Sound of Music.
The 2nd Stage season begins with the moving drama, Next Fall; followed by the heart-warming musical, A Catered Affair; and ending with the Pulitzer-winning drama, Rabbit Hole.
In addition to Bye Bye Birdie, Stagecrafters Youth Theatre will present the holiday who-dunnit, Just in the Nick of Time! in December 2012.
“We are so proud to entertain our audiences with high quality live theatre. From fun and new shows to family-friendly favorites, we are sure once you come for a show, you'll stay for the season!" says Stagecrafters president Linda Zublick.
New for the 2012-2013 is what Stagecrafters is calling, Opening Night Toast Club. “We’re bringing back the celebration to opening nights by adding the sparkle of a pre-glow. We’re opening the doors early on opening nights for our Main Stage and 2nd Stage shows to feature some sweet and savory Michigan favorites, as well as some specialties from all over the state of Michigan. I like to think of it as a ‘celebrate the best of theatre and the best of Michigan.’ All ticket holders for opening night are invited to join in the complimentary pre-glow as we make a ‘toast’ to opening night,” says Lesley Braden, Stagecrafters Development Director.
