Stay & Play Social Club: There’s More Than One Way to Exercise this Fall
It’s a known fact that exercise is an important part of a healthy life style. Being active physically and socially can also lead to better mental health. There is no better outlet to increase your health and meet new people then co-ed sport leagues. Interacting with others while letting off some steam during sporting activities, can help lead to a more fulfilled life.
Stay & Play Social Club (SPSC), a local sport and social established in 2001 in Metro-Detroit, is about to start registration for their fall leagues in August. Many different sports are available from soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball, kickball and many more! All-skill levels are welcome to play from beginners to competitive athletes.
Here are a few pointers on how to get started and stick with it:
1) Do activities with your friends
Join a sports team with one or more of your friend’s so that they can motivate you. It is much easier to stick with a commitment if you feel accountable to someone else.
2) Learn something new
Always wanted to learn how to play tennis or flag football? The best way to learn something new is to try it. With leagues lasting 7-9 weeks you do not have to make a long-term commitment to an activity that isn’t best suited for you.
3) Expand you social circle
New to the area? Come out to a social event that SPSC hosts on a monthly basis and meet other sports players to join with on a team.
