The 48 Hour Music Video Project Invades Detroit

From the team that brings you the Detroit 48HFP comes the 48 Hour Music Video project making its debut in 2012 here in Detroit.  We're looking for at least ten bands, 10 film teams and 10 music videos -  all made in just 48 hours. The filming weekend will be Nov. 9- 11.  The music videos will then screen at a public venue in November 2012.  The winning video  then screens nationally at the awards ceremony at Filmapalooza in Los Angeles in 2013.

Do you have a filmmaking team together that's been dying to do a music video?  Are you a part of a band that's been looking to have your own video done?  There's never a better time than now to make it happen!

DETAILS ON HOW IT WORKS

Bands and film teams sign up to make a music video in one weekend, following standard rules of the 48 Hour Film Project. Bands bring a completed and recorded original song to the Kick off.  At the Kick Off (Friday, Nov. 9) bands and teams are randomly assigned to each other via a drawing process. 48 Hours later at the drop off, the music videos are completed (by Sunday Nov. 11).

Anyone can join! Bands/songwriters will be required to provide an original song which they wrote and recorded (no covers). Musicians of all genres are welcome: rock bands, singer songwriters, rappers, DJ's (with music permissions) and solo artists.  If you know of a local band that's been itching to do a music video, now's a great opportunity!

PREMIERE SCREENINGS

Every video is guaranteed a screening at a theatre location to be announced in November, at the 48 Music Video Project (48MVP) Premier and Awards Ceremony, very soon after the films are turned in.

JUDGING OF VIDEOS

Three judges will select the Best Film and the Best Song.  Many other winning categories will be awarded such as Best Cinematography, Best Directing, Best Band Stage Presence and others.  The winners will be announced at the screening and winners will receive their awards.
