With the start of Lent comes the season of fish fries. Many churches and organizations host one and most restaurants feature some catch-of-the-day special on their menus.

We found a few places where you can get your fish fry fix, but know there are many more out there. If your church, business or organization is hosting a fish fry this Lenten season, be sure to add it to our calendar

Options on our event calendar:

  • Royal Oak First United Methodist Church Fish Dinners: Enjoy a cod, haddock or walleye dinner. Menu also includes chicken tenders, french fries, baked potato, coleslaw, fresh baked pie and sheet cake. Prices range from $3-$13
  • St. Mary Fish Fry: All you can eat fried and baked fish. Buffet includes baked potatoes, french fries, mac and cheese, cole slaw and salad. Desserts available, too. Carryout available. Prices range from $5.50-$9.50
  • Shrine Fish Bake: Both fish and pasta dinners are available on Fridays during Lent. All dinners include a beverage choice of coffee, hot tea or lemonade. Carryout available. Prices range from $5-$8

I agree! Haven't tried the others because St. Mary's is so wonderful; looking forward to some good fish!

First United Methodist Fish Dinners are amazing! Really high quality ingredients, a great selection of fish (Cod, Walleye, Haddock--yum!) or whole muscle chicken tenders. You couldn't get a better meal at a restaurant. Delicious!!! Added bonus, they use all 100% compostable disposable products, I love not seeing a bunch of styrofoam going into our environment :-)
