Last year, Royal Oak students outperformed county and state averages on the Michigan Merit Exams. Writing, math and science scores improved while reading and social studies dipped slightly.
The MME is a collection of tests given each spring to Michigan 11th grade students during a three-day period that includes state-developed tests in math, science and social studies, the ACT college entrance exam and ACT WorkKeys test.
The 2012 tests were adminstered in the spring. Parents should be receiving individual students' results soon.
