Pet of the Week: Charismatic Cat Wants a New Family

Four-year-old Dillan seeks a loving, mature home.

Dillan is a loving kitty with a great personality. If you're looking for an affectionate cat, he's your guy.

Dillan will do whatever it takes to get your attention. He happily greets shelter visitors in his squeaky meow to ensure getting noticed. He'll even stick his paw out of his cage, as if to shake your hand. Though Dillan can be a bit demanding, he never fails to show his appreciation. He always purrs and kneads his paws to let you know he greatly enjoys being petted. Shelter staff describe this brown tabby as “smart and creative.”

At 4 years old, Dillan is a very playful boy. He prefers strings and toy mice to any other toys. During playtime, he really shows his intelligence. He's great at playing hide-and-seek with his toys. Upon finding the toys, Dillan loves to hold them in his mouth to protect them. His front paws are declawed, but this doesn't seem to hinder Dillan's ability to play.

Dillan came to the shelter at the beginning of February. His family surrendered him because he didn't get along with their baby. Because of this, staffers feel that he should be adopted to a home without younger children. He should do fine in a house with older children, though. Dillan really enjoys spreading his love to anyone, including other cats. A house with dogs should also be a fine match for this kind cat.

Staffers say Dillan is in great health, neutered and up-to-date with all of his routine shots. He has a slender figure and isn't picky about his food. If Dillan seems like a match for your family, stop by the shelter to meet him.
