Police Blotter: Bleachers Stolen from Royal Oak Middle School

Bleachers stolen from middle school

709 N. Washington, Aug. 2: A resident reported that someone stole 172 feet of aluminum bleachers from the  football field. 

Safe taken

1700 W. 14 Mile Rd., July 31: A female employee of  said she arrived to work to see that the business was not locked and the safe was open and empty.

Windows broken

30674 Woodward Ave., July 29:  reported someone broke a window and entered. That person tried to steal one of the vehicles in the parking lot.

2800 block of Woodslee, July, 29: An owner of a vacant home said someone broke into the home and stole furniture.

Cash register stolen

27302 Woodward Ave., Aug. 4: An employee of the  restaurant said someone pried open their side door and stole the cash register.

Homes invaded

1500 block of West Webster, July 29: A woman reported that someone entered her home and stole jewelry and a checkbook.   

1400 block of Ottawa, July, 29: A woman reported that someone entered her unlocked home and stole a television, jewelry and jewelry boxes.

2500 block of Vinsetta, July 29: A resident reported that someone broke a bedroom window and stole jewelry and identification. 

2300 block of Rowland, Aug. 4: A woman said two antique clocks were stolen from her unlocked home.

Car thefts

2700 block of Trafford, July 29: A man said that someone stole his 2003 Dodge Caravan that was parked in front of his home. 

3200 block of North Connecticut, July 31: A woman said she saw two male teenagers inside her car. She confronted them and they ran away. The officers who arrived at the scene said the teenagers had tried to steal the car.

Items taken from cars

1500 block of East Lincoln, July 29: A woman reported someone stole three gallons of water from the back of her pickup.

3015 W. 13 Mile Rd., July 29: A man reported his golf clubs were stolen from his unlocked car. 

1500 block of Genesee, July 30: A man said someone went inside his unlocked car and stole a GPS, some cell phones and his golf clubs. 

500 block of Lexington, July, 30: A man said someone entered all three of his cars, taking money, an iPod and some CDs.

1500 block of Bauman, July 30: A man reported that someone entered his unlocked car and stole his GPS. 

300 block of East Harrison, Aug. 2: A woman said someone pried open her car door and stole a laptop computer, sunglasses and CDs.

Broken windows

800 block of Wyandotte, July 29: A man reported that someone shattered the rear window of his car.

700 block of Irving, July, 29: A woman told police that someone shattered her storm door by throwing a marble at it. She said she saw a man driving an old, white van driving away.

Fourth and Lafayette streets, July, 30: A woman reported that someone smashed the rear window of her car. 

2700 block of Benjamin, July 31: A man said someone used a brick to smash the window of his car.

Bikes taken

3200 block of Evergreen, July 31: A woman said her children called and told her they saw a man riding one of their bicycles. They followed him to 14 Mile and Crooks and saw him go inside a gas station. The Royal Oak police found and arrested the man for the theft of the bicycle.

805 S. Campbell, Aug. 1: A man said someone stole his silver bicycle that was parked in front of . 

Other incidents

300 S. Center, July 29: A resident said someone damaged the door to the parking office at the Center Street Parking Structure. 

30935 Woodward Avenue, July 30: A woman said she found a 6 foot 2 inch, 200 pound man in the employee office of , going through her purse. The woman called the Royal Oak Police, but the officers arrived after the man ran away.
