Police Blotter: Indecent Exposure, Thefts and More

The following information was supplied by the Royal Oak Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Highlights of reports for Oct. 12-19:

Police arrest man for indecent exposure

, 303 S. Main, Oct. 18: Royal Oak officers responded to an indecent exposure report Tuesday. It was reported that a man had exposed himself and then walked away from the scene. Royal Oak officers observed as the suspect went into . When the officers approached the man, he fled from the scene on foot. Officers pursued him for several blocks and arrested him for indecent exposure and obstructing police.  

Home invaded

  • 1500 block of East Windemere, Oct. 17:  A woman reported someone forced entry into her home through the back door. She reported numerous stolen items including jewelry and electronics.  

Car stolen

  • 5000 block of Thorncroft, Oct. 18:  A man reported that someone stole his vehicle while it was parked in front of his residence. 

Breaking and entering

  • 900 block of East Fifth, Oct. 16: A man reported that an Ariens snow blower was stolen from his shed. 
  • 1900 of South Brockton, Oct. 19: A woman reported that someone entered her open garage and stole her weed trimmer and leaf blower.
  • 1000 block of Oakridge, Oct. 18: A woman reported that someone attempted to force open her side door, which reportedly resulted in damage to the door and doorjamb. 

Larceny from vehicle incidents

  • 3400 block of Rochester, Oct. 16: A man reported that two leaf blowers were stolen from his truck. 
  • 200 block of Stonebrooke Court, Oct. 18: Royal Oak officers responded to a report of a larceny from automobile in progress. The owner of the vehicle had tried to confront the suspect, who then fled the scene by foot.  The suspect was soon located and arrested by responding officers.

Other incidents

  • 3200 block of Ferncliff, Oct. 13:  A woman reported that someone stole her pink bicycle from her backyard. 
  • 515 E. Fourth, Oct. 16:  A woman reported that someone stole her orange Trek 4300 Mountain Bike. 
  • Sixth Street and Lafayette, Oct. 14: A woman reported that someone kicked the front driver side of her automobile causing a dent. 
  • 3000 block of West 13 Mile, Oct. 14: A man reported that the license plate of his vehicle was stolen.
  • 800 block of West Webster, Oct. 14: It was reported that someone stole an 1864 Moore Fire Arms 32-TeatFire handgun during an estate sale.
  • 2800 block of Glenwood, Oct. 18: A man reported that someone stole his bike from his open garage.  
  • 2500 block of Dallas, Oct. 19:  A man reported that someone threw a brick through his window.  
  • 2100 block of East 11 Mile, Oct. 19:  A woman reported that someone stole a bottle of Vicodin from her medicine cabinet.
