Police Blotter: Several Tires Slashed Tuesday

The following information was supplied by the Royal Oak Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Thefts and breaking-and-entering incidents dominated reports to the during the past week.

Tires slashed at three locations Tuesday

  • 30002 Woodward Ave., : A person reported that someone slashed the tires on two vehicles parked in the lot. 
  • 30178 Woodward Ave., Ray's Auto Sales: A person reported that someone slashed the tires on two vehicles parked at the business. 
  • 3023 W. 13 Mile, Babock Oaks Co-Op: Royal Oak officers spoke to several people who reported that someone had slashed their tires. Five vehicles were damaged.

Homes invaded

  • 2200 block of Clawson, Dec. 2: A man reported that someone entered his unlocked home and stole his prescription medicine.
  • 3000 block of Glenview, Dec. 2: A woman reported that someone entered her home, gaining access by breaking the window of the rear door, and stole an iPod. 
  • 3000 block of Maplewood, Dec. 2: A man reported that someone forced open the locked rear door of his home and stole a video game console, video games and an undisclosed amount of cash.  
  • 2700 block of West 13 Mile, Monday: A man reported that someone entered his unlocked home and stole his Xbox 360 gaming system and video games. 

Items stolen from cars

  • 200 block of South Minerva, Dec. 2: A woman reported that someone entered her unlocked vehicle and stole her purse, portable GPS unit and an undisclosed amount of currency.
  • 4900 block of Coolidge, Dec. 2: A man reported that someone stole the catalytic converter from his 2003 Pontiac.  
  • 3800 block of Devon, Wednesday: A woman reported that someone entered her unlocked vehicle and stole an undisclosed amount of money. 

Other incidents

  • 26968 Woodward Ave., Mon Avi Daycare & Nursery Center, Monday: A woman reported that someone smashed the front passenger window of her vehicle and stole her purse. 
  • 1300 block of Hoffman, Monday: A man reported that someone entered his backyard to gain access to his neighbor’s yard. When he confronted the man, the man dropped a bag of aluminum cans and ran away, according to the police report.
  • 29402 Woodward Ave, , Tuesday: A person reported that someone stole 15 wooden pallets from behind the business. 
  • 600 block of St. Charles, Wednesday: A woman reported that someone stole three packages from her front porch.
  • 31542 Woodward Ave., , Wednesday: A man reported that someone stole his watch from the men’s room after he set it down to wash his hands.
