Police Release Surveillance Photos of Man in Connection with I-96 Corridor Shootings
The images were taken at the Brighton Mobil Gas Station on Oct. 27.
Police investigators released photos on Friday afternoon of a potential witness connected with the 24 shootings along the I-96 corridor.
The images of a man authorities would like to interview were taken at the Brighton Mobil Gas Station on Oct. 27. Police say the car shown may be a black 2008 to 2012 Chevrolet Mailibu.
Of the 24 incidents between Oct. 16 and Oct. 27, three have occured in Livingston County, including the only time a driver was injured during a shooting. No arrests have been made in the investigation.
The suspect is described as a white male in his late twenties or early thirties. One witness described him as “clean-shaven.” However, police said it is possible he may change his appearance.
Police said they believe that additional victims exist. They are asking people who travel the affected areas to inspect their cars for obvious bullet holes.
Police said they believe the suspect is familiar with the areas where the shootings occurred and may have fabricated stories regarding his activities during the time periods of the shootings.
People who know the suspect may not believe he is capable of committing these types of crimes, and he also may not necessarily have a violent criminal history, according to police.
