Rats! Commissioners Discuss Royal Oak's Pesky Problem
The city's rodent problem is on the Royal Oak City Commission's agenda tonight.
Commissioner Jim Rasor and Mayor Pro Tem Patricia Capello are calling for a discussion of the city's rodent problems when the Royal Oak City Commission meets at 7:30 p.m. tonight at City Hall.
The City of Royal Oak's website presently informs the public on how to help prevent infestations. In its Rodent Information Handout, open trash containers, garbage outside of bins, bird feeders, and dog feces are listed as potential sanitation problems that lead to rats.
Where infestations occur, rodenticides usually provide the most cost-effective approach to rodent control, according to the handbook. Selecting the proper rodenticide and correct bait placement are key to an effective integrated pest management program.
