A Royal Oak home on the corner of Farnum and Alexander, is one of three architectural projects that has helped earn new kudos for the architects who designed it.

Jason Krieger and Jeff Klatt received Best of Traditional Architecture Under 4,000 Square Feet and Best of Retail Interior design awards from Detroit Home, a magazine dedicated to how and where Metro Detroiters live.

Krieger, who lives in Royal Oak, partnered with Klatt of Sterling Heights two years ago. Both men have more than 20 years of experience in custom residential and commercial architectural design.

The diversity of their portfolio—from 6,000 square-feet spec houses to restaurant and bar design—has kept the pair busy.

“We’re also expanding our services to include interior design consulting,” said Klatt, “We’re in the middle of construction right now as we expand our showroom."

Royal Oak projects include proposed hotel complex

Some of their notable Royal Oak clients include Holiday Market, Northwood Credit Union, Fifth Avenue and O’Toole’s. They are also the design team behind the hotel complex on the former Fresard site, which is slated to go back before the Planning Commission soon for final approval, Krieger said.

“We’re headquartered in Royal Oak because it’s a great town and you can’t beat the convenience,” Krieger said.

Krieger | Klatt Architects’ award-winning projects will be published in the spring edition of Detroit Home magazine.

Congratulations on the award. I particularly like the nice old time feel and traditional varying lines on the house design.
