Patients at Children’s Hospital of Michigan received an early Christmas present, thanks to Jason Peach, of Royal Oak, the inventor and owner of Bedside Healers.

Bedside Healers are stuffed animals equipped with an innovative design that allows patients to attach them to bed rails, IV posts, and walkers.

Peach opened his business a mere five months ago, and has already donated more than 500 bears to local hospitals, as well as hospitals in Las Vegas and Florida. His success earned him the Ferndale Area Chamber of Commerce’s New Business of the Year award at a ceremony held Nov. 8.

Peach hopes to double the number of donations in 2013 and has other goals for the company as well, including the launch of a new web site in January.

“Right now, people can go online and order our bears to be sent anywhere across the country. In January, patients will also be able to share their experiences. We hope that this new format will become a resource for people to share stories of hope and inspiration,” said Peach.
