Royal Oak High School Ravens Give Back to Community
To earn a varsity letter, Raven football players are required to do community service.
"We just really want to give back to the community, and to know it's not just all about us. There are other people out there that need help," said Raven Noah Kochanski.
In order to earn a varsity letter, Head Coach Ryan Irish is requiring players to do community service. The students touring the hospital today said they were interested in creating awareness for childhood cancer.
Irish knows firsthand what it's like to fight cancer, his first daughter Grace was diagnosed with leukemia. He remains close friends with last year's head football coach, Jeff Hill, who stepped down in January after learning his infant daughter, Maleena Hill, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in December.
Despite setbacks along the way, both Grace and Maleena are doing great today.
