'Selene and Endymion' Face the Music in Downtown Royal Oak
Noir Leather draws attention to Detroit Institute of Art works with 'artsy' musical performances.
Art and music unite in downtown Royal Oak this week – sound familiar?
On the heels of Arts Beats & Eats, comes another opportunity to revel in culture. Music acts Michael Mars and Barbeque are set to play at Noir Leather from 8 – 9:30 p.m. under Selene and Endymion by Nicolas Poussin – one of six works of art on display this summer, throughout the city, as part of Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) Inside|Out.
“We have been talking at our Royal Oak Commission for the Arts meetings about having music and performances in conjunction with the DIA paintings,” said Noir Leather owner Keith Howarth. “Royal Oak is proud to be displaying these pieces and Noir Leather is doing its part in helping draw attention to the paintings.”
