Public Input Wanted on ROHS Principal Search

The search for the next Royal Oak High School principal is underway.

Earlier this month we began this process by convening a series of small focus groups. We have used information gathered from the focus group conversations to generate an objective response survey. Now, we are seeking to gather as much input as possible by inviting people from across the district and throughout our community to complete this survey.

The survey can be completed by clicking this link: www.surveymonkey.com/s/MQ66R6V

[The survey will close at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25.  Please respond before then.]

The preliminary timeline for the search process is as follows:

  • January: Solicit input for development of job posting and selection criteria.
  • February: Post position and recruit applicants.
  • March: Interviews (multiple rounds).
  • April: Recommendation of a candidate to the Board of Education.
  • July 1, 2013: Official start date

Interim Principal Jim Moll will continue to provide leadership to the high school through the end of this school year. His leadership of ROHS since last January has been invaluable to ROHS students and staff members.

I am acutely aware of how critical it is that we find the right person to serve as our next ROHS Principal, and I am grateful for your support and assistance in this process.

Sincerely,

Shawn Lewis-Lakin, Superintendent

Clone Jim Moll.... Seriously he's a man of integrity and a true gift for the kids of Royal Oak High.... Why don't you ask him whom he would recommend! Just a thought ...
