Tom Hutt, of Royal Oak, was cast as a Winkie in 'Oz: The Great and Powerful.'

Among those walking the yellow carpet at the Emagine Theatre Tuesday for the advance screening of Disney’s fantastical adventure Oz: The Great and Powerful was Tom Hutt who portrays one of the evil guards of the witches or a Winkie.

For the unusually tall real estate broker, the chance to participate in the film was an opportunity he never thought he'd have, but one he couldn't pass up.

At a towering 6-foot-9-inches tall, Hutt said he heard the film's producers were looking for tall people and so, curious, he attended a casting call. He didn't have to worry about making the cut; Hutt said the casting directors had their eyes out for Winkies and immediately pulled him aside.

[Tomorrow meet Coco Del Signore. The 12-year-old is an Emerald City Citizen in Oz: The Great and Powerful.]
