VIDEO: Rescued Persian Cats Get Baths in Royal Oak
Ten rescued kitties received a little TLC today in downtown Royal Oak.
Ten Persian cats rescued from a hoarding situation in western Michigan were brought to Bingo Pet Salon in downtown Royal Oak for baths and grooming Monday afternoon.
Thirty-one cats in all were rescued two weeks ago on the west side of the state. They all were treated, received shots, were spayed or neutered and shaved.
The 10 cats that traveled to Royal Oak are gradually adjusting, according to Jennifer Fritz of New Beginnings Animal Rescue.
"We are getting them used to being handled in a more loving way," Fritz said. Many of the cats lived in a small cages or rooms for their entire life with little human interaction.
"They are ready to be adopted, but it is going to take someone really understanding," Fritz said. "It's going to take some time before these cats are in your lap and purring."
Visit the New Beginnings Animal Rescue website to learn how you can adopt or foster one of the cats or make a donation.
