Weekend Spotlight: Make Plans for Valentine's Day

Events for every kind of date night.

 

Got some sweet plans for Valentine's Day?

There's plenty to choose from for every kind of date. For a romantic date, check out the Dueling Piano Schedule at 526 Main or Spa Saturday with Valentine's Chocolate and Wine Pairing at Vintner's Cellar of Royal Oak. For more ideas, go to Painting With a Twist's Facebook Page for a chance to tell your romantic story and win a free class, or attend the popular Love Gone Wild event at the Detroit Zoo.

Teen Un-Valentine's Day Party

Middle and high school students are invited to attend an Un-Valentines Day Party 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Royal Oak Public Library. At the event, teens may play “Minute to Win It” Valentine’s style, and make a sweet treat and an un-Valentine black duct tape rose. Registration is limited to 25. Visit ropl.org or call the Youth and Teen Services at 248-246-3725 to sign up for this free program.

Sweetheart Date Night

It's going to be a night to remember, as girls 15 and younger are invited to bring their favorite date, including dads, uncles, older brothers or even family friends, to the Gerry Kulick Community Center. Those who registered by Feb. 2 are offered the opportunity to show their special Valentine how much they love them at the event from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Refreshments, a flower and a photo of the couple will be provided. Another bonus is a special pre-dance dinner The Emory is providing free to those with a registration receipt. The dinner is offered at 4 p.m.

Hearts and Flowers Craft Show

Head to the Royal Oak Farmers Market and check out this year's Hearts and Flowers Craft Show 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The Royal Oak Farmers Market Association will present the show, along with Antiques & Collectibles.

Dateless at Dino's

Are you dateless? Join the celebration at Dino's Lounge and you are in for a show, as Barbara Payton and Chris Brantley perform, and $1 heart-shaped Valentine's Pizza sliders are on the menu. Get here before 8 p.m. to beat the cover charge, which is $10. Dino's also offers a special $69 dinner package on Valentine's Day, for those who want to bring a date.
