Quilting in the Cold

The temperatures are starting to drop a bit, but I'm always over heated, so I don't notice. That is until my beloved informs me that the furnace is not working at all.

He calls for a repairman but he isn't available until the next day. My first thought is my birds, they can't get cold. I have a portable heater for them, its running fine, I go back to my stitching and throw a quilt over my legs.

No worries here, I'll sleep with the dog, he's little but he's very warm under yet another quilt, this one much larger. I slept like a new baby in mothers arms, so sound I missed the alarm, that's alright by me.

But of course, once out of the bed, birds are good, dogs are walked, I'm back to making a quilt, more than likely to one day keep someone else warm. It didn't take long to discover the problem with the furnace, thank goodness for the home heating plan we have in place. Its time for me to get back to work, lots of quilting to be done, inventory for shows to be completed.

The house was unusually cold this morning, so I was overdressed, not good. I'm the one in shorts in January out with the dogs. But alas, I'll be sitting cozy quilting my life away. And on and on she goes...........
