 &nbsp\;satire&nbsp\;on&nbsp\;corruption&nbsp\;in the criminal justice sy
 stem and the concept of the "celebrity criminal".&nbsp\;&nbsp\;The music
 al is based on a&nbsp\;1926 play of the same name&nbsp\;by reporter&nbsp
 \;Maurine Dallas Watkins&nbsp\;about actual criminals and crimes she rep
 orted on.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;The music is by&nbsp\;John Kanderwith lyrics by&n
 bsp\;Fred Ebb&nbsp\;and a book by Ebb and&nbsp\;Bob Fosse.&nbsp\;\nMurde
 resses Velma Kelly\, played by Kendall Doman (Bloomfield Hills)\, and Ro
 xie Hart\, played by Liz Schultz (Royal Oak)\, find themselves on death 
 row together and fight for the fame that will keep them from the gallows
  in 1920s Chicago.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;Velma is a vaudeville performer accused 
 of murdering her sister and husband.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;Roxie is an aspiring s
 tar who murders her lover and convinces her gullible husband\, Amos\, pl
 ayed by Paul Dorset (Birmingham)\, to take the blame.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;Ultim
 ately Roxie goes to jail and joins her fellow murderesses.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;
 Both women are headline hunters seeking to capitalize on pre-trial publi
 city as they turn to their tricky lawyer\, Billy Flynn\, played by Chris
  Steinmayer (Oak Park)\, to free them from jail and make them stars.\nAl
 though&nbsp\;Chicago&nbsp\;is a very popular musical\, Director Jeff Dav
 ison (Bingham Farms) is up to the task of keeping it fresh\,&nbsp\;"We a
 re mixing modern trends\, new twists and a 1920's attitude to create a v
 ery unique version".&nbsp\;&nbsp\;Davison is a familiar face around St. 
 Dunstan&rsquo\;s Theatre &ndash\; both on stage and off.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;In
  the past he has directed the musicals&nbsp\;She Loves Me\,&nbsp\;The Pr
 oducers\, and&nbsp\;A Man of No Importance&nbsp\;among others.\nDavison 
 is joined by an incredible production team with Nancy Wegienek (Birmingh
 am) Assistant Directing\, Nat Towle (Bingham Farms) Apprentice Directing
 \, Kathy Brooks (Royal Oak) Producing\, Deb Tedrick (Bloomfield Hills) M
 usic Directing\, and John Luther Choreographing.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;St. Dunsta
 n&rsquo\;s also has a talented group of people who work behind the scene
 s:&nbsp\;&nbsp\;Obie Burch (Royal Oak) designed the lights and set with 
 the help of Tom Edson (Bloomfield Hills)\, who headed up set constructio
 n.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;Costumes are designed by Linda Watson (West Bloomfield)\
 , Hair and Makeup by Anthony Marsalese (Bingham Farms)\, and Props are b
 eing handled by Susan Holmes (Bloomfield Hills).&nbsp\;&nbsp\;"I could n
