Patch reader Kelley writes: "What happened to the light at Whittier Park? The street light that lit up the park at night is broken into about three or four pieces just south of the pickleball courts."

To answer Kelley's question, Patch called Tod Gazetti, recreation director.

The pole was downed in a wind storm last week, Gazetti said.

"A tree branch fell and knocked it over."

There are a string of lights in the park for safety purposes, Gazetti said. The wooden pole belongs to DTE Energy and will be fixed.

"We have a call in and are hoping the light will be back up in the next 30 days."

Light poles are replaced on a priority basis, he said.
