Deer Return to Tenhave

Colleen Hilzinger writes:

"A doe and a Bambi have been spotted in Tenhave Woods in Royal Oak. Great effort was made last fall by the Royal Oak Nature Society and volunteers to string three lines of wire above the city fence to keep the deer out of the park so the vegetation could restore itself. The only way these deer could get inside is if one of the existing properties along Custer Ave. and Lexington Blvd left a gate open. Our house backs up to the woods on Lexington and I personally spotted one on Tuesday."

Hilzinger asks that residents be vigilant in in closing gates to prevent deer from returning.
