The South Oakland Chili Cook-Off is just around the corner, but it's not too late to get involved!

Restaurants, businesses, community organizations and individuals are welcome to enter their chili into the competition to earn of one of several titles, including Best of the Best, Hottest and Most Creative. Registration for competitors has been extended until Aug. 31.

Businesses and groups wanting to contribute in other ways can become an event sponsor, with several sponsorship levels available. Donated Items for the event’s silent auction — gift certificates of $25 and up, non-perishable products and gift baskets — are also welcome.

Proceeds from the South Oakland Chili Cook-Off will benefit local the Boys & Girls Club of South Oakland County, the Royal Oak Parks and Recreation Dept. and the Royal Oak Jaycees.
