Michael Golds and AD/HD

Chris Dendy to deliver Keynote address at the Michael Golds Memorial AD/HD Conference.

The Michael Golds Memorial AD/HD Conference is coming to the OCC - Oakland Ridge Campus in Farmington Hills on Friday September 27.

The conference will be kicked off at 8:30 by a keynote address by Chris Dendy.  Her topic is, "Understanding the Impact of AD/HD and Executive Function Deficits on Academic Performance and Behavior.”

Ms. Dendy will provide a brief overview of ten key AD/HD-Executive Function(EF) facts that impact academic performance and behavior, plus a description of nine components of executive function and their impact. This nuts and bolts presentation targets recent brain research, common AD/HD-EF deficits, including working memory and organizational skills, along with tips for maximizing behavioral strategies.

R. Tommy Dendy will also speak from a father's perspective about the challenges of parenting a student with AD/HD and executive function deficits.

Chris Dendy is a former educator, school psychologist, children's mental health professional with over 40 years of experience in these fields. Perhaps more importantly Ms. Dendy is the mother of three grown children with AD/HD.   Ms. Dendy was inducted into CHADD's Hall of Fame for her outstanding contributions to the field.  She is the author of four books and three videos on AD/HD.  Her first book "Teenagers with ADD & AD/HD" has sold over 100,000 copies.  She was the lead author for the CHADD Educator's Manual and is co-creator of CHADD's Teacher to Teacher training program.
