After Last Year's Storms, Saturday's Cruising Forecast is Cool and Sunny

Temperatures will be in the low 70's Saturday under mostly sunny skies, National Weather Service says.

We know it's hard to accurately predict the weather in Michigan, but it looks like the stars are aligning for the 2012 Woodward Dream Cruise.

According to the National Weather Service, the high Saturday is expected to reach 72 degrees under mostly sunny skies — perfect cruising weather.

Last year, forced Royal Oak police to call off the Woodward Dream Cruise hours early so public safety officers could shift their efforts into the city's trouble spots. In Royal Oak, more than 5,000 households lost power.

In total, that fateful Dream Cruise Saturday, with dozens of trees and power lines knocked down by 60-mile-per-hour winds.

This Saturday, despite the sunny forecast, rain is still in the cards for the weekend. The National Weather Service says there's a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms Friday and another chance of showers on Sunday.
