The Beirut Palace restaurant is no more at 105 S. Main St.

A spokesperson for the restaurant known for its Middle Eastern cuisine said the business will move to 205 S. Main, the former home of Pizza Rustica.

The landlord would not renew the lease, according to the spokesperson. No date was given as to when the restaurant will reopen in its new location.

I am happy they aren't simply closing, Beirut is some of the best food in Downtown RO. The hummus is amazing.

Missed this earlier, downsizing will likely allow them to finally get a bistro license. They were way over the seating limit at the old site.

Sea change in RO Main St. real estate for sure. I wonder what will go into the old Beirut Palace space? I wonder if they will be long-term tenant or we'll see a merry-go-round of rapidly failed businesses. Potential renters should be sure to check the details of liquor licenses in RO - there isn't any more left, and as the poster above noted, the BP space is too large for a bistro license. All that said, I'm very glad that Beirut Palace is able to stay in RO. We go there all the time and I still remember their banner supporting the US during the days after 9/11.

No big loss, mediocre food and terrible service. The outdoor patio was the only thing keeping them going, they won't last long at the new location without it. If your in the mood for Middle Eastern, do yourself a favor and go to La Feast or Gemmayze, or Anita's in Ferndale.

Although I don't like to criticize any small business in our town, I agree with RAM's post above. As far as middle eastern food goes they (Beirut Palace) are/were average at best. LaFeast is by far tastier (and less expensive). Gemmayze is over-priced. Anita's is awesome.
