Cautious Travel is Advised Sunday Morning

A Special Weather Statement from the National Weather Service is in effect until further notice.

Cautious travel is advised for snow-covered roadways this morning as an area of light snow moves across southeastern, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Snow accumulation of up to one half inch can be expected through 10 a.m. with temperatures ranging between 12 and 17 degrees.

NWS advises:

  • accumulating snow may lead to slippery roads particularly on    bridges, exit ramps and overpasses
  • light snow is not expected to cause a widespread reduction in    visibility
  • the combination of light snow and cold temperatures will result in localized slippery conditions and variable traffic rates throughout the county
  • motorists are urged to use caution and account for the variable driving conditions by allowing extra time
