Detroit Zoo Honors Military with Free Admission

Veterans Day visitors will find that autumn is the perfect time to visit the Detroit Zoo.

The Detroit Zoo is offering free admission to all active and retired military with ID on Monday, Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day.

“We’re grateful to the men and women who keep our nation safe and thank them for their service," said Detroit Zoological Society Executive Director Ron Kagan.

Veterans Day visitors will find that autumn is the perfect time to visit the Detroit Zoo. As the temperature drops, many of the animals become more active outdoors, including the polar bears, tigers, wolverines, elk and bison. In addition, red panda twins Meriadoc and Gansu – born in June – are easier to spot now that the leaves have fallen in their wooded habitat.

Free Veterans Day admission for active and retired military is underwritten by the MASCO Corporation Foundation.
