What if the season of joy only serves to magnify your pain? That may seem like a strange thought, but for some of our brothers and sisters Christmas can be a difficult time indeed. While many of us are decking the halls and wrapping the gifts, others are struggling with darkness in their lives that seeks to steal away their joy. The darkness might come from the loss of a loved one, the loss of a job, a painful relationship, a life in transition, or any number of other struggles that can cause us to sing the blues rather than "Joy to the World".
God is in the midst of the hard times as well as the good times, but for some it is a struggle to find Him in this season when the messages of joy and abundance can be overwhelming. You are welcome to join in a quiet evening of reflection, music, prayer and ritual to re-frame the Christmas story for our more somber times. All are welcome!
