Gangnam Chicken Moves into Maria's of Royal Oak Space

Gangnam Chicken serves Korean, Japanese and Italian food on Catalpa Drive in Royal Oak.

Well that was fast.

Tuesday night, Patch told you Maria's of Royal Oak closed and Wednesday Gangnam Chicken opened at 112 Catalpa Dr.

Owner Paul Lee has more than 30 years experence in the restaurant business and Korean-style deep fried chicken served with spicy, soy garlic or buffalo sauce is his specialty. 

"Korean chicken is a big sensation right now in New York and Los Angles," Lee said.

Besides chicken, the menu includes grilled rice balls, stews, kimchi fries and several noodle dishes.

There are also a few Italian items on the menu, including pesto cavatappi, spaghetti a la carbonara, fettuccine alfredo and lasagna.

Prices range from $9-$19.

The restaurant is open from 11:30 a.m to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 11:30 a.m to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday; noon to 10 p.m. Sunday.
