Lions and Tigers and Beers ... Oh, My!

Detroit Zoo hosts Zoo Brew Sept. 27 .

The Detroit Zoo’s third annual Zoo Brew is on tap forFriday, Sept. 27, 2013, 6 to 10:30 p.m. The event will sample more than 80 beers from select Michigan craft breweries, starting with a beer welcome courtesy of Atwater Brewery. All attendees for the rain-or-shine event must be 21 or older; photo ID is required.

Zoo Brew offers guests the unique experience of taking a stroll through the Detroit Zoo with a favorite brew in hand while enjoying after-hours access to the award-winning habitats until dark. The event includes complimentary tram tours and zookeeper talks as well as entertainment by rock band The Hard Lessons with special guest Mod Orange, blues guitarist/vocalist Laith Al-Saadi and blues/classic rock artist Pete “Big Dog” Fetters.

Zoo Brew tickets are available at www.detroitzoo.org/events/zoobrew or at Booth 1 at the front of the Zoo. Advance tickets are $35 until September 20, and remaining tickets will be available for $40 online or at the gate. Ticket packages include Detroit Zoo admission, parking and 12 beer tasting tickets. Additional tasting tickets and food are available for purchase. Event tickets are limited – and previous Zoo Brew events have sold out – so advance purchase is encouraged.

Designated Driver tickets will be available in advance or at the gate the night of the event for $25 and include Zoo admission, parking and unlimited soft drinks. Designated Driver ticket holders are not permitted to consume alcohol at the event.
