UPDATE: 2,637 DTE Customers Without Power in Royal Oak

More lights go out in Royal Oak.

UPDATE, 7 a.m: Lights are back on for more than 700 DTE customers north of 12 Mile Road and west of Crooks, however, another 1,230 homes and businesses north of Gardenia and west of Rochester Road and several smaller areas lost power overnight due to wild and windy weather.

A total of 2,637 DTE customers in Royal Oak are without power Monday morning.

According to the energy company's outage map, the new outages, which occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m., should have power restored by Tuesday at 11:30 p.m.

CBS Detroit reports roughly 245,000 DTE customers in southeast Michigan are without power Monday morning and more than 100 schools throughout the area are closed. In Royal Oak, schools are open. Click here for a list of school closings.

DTE encourages customers to report downed power lines and power outages through its mobile website, or online at dteenergy.com, or by using the DTE Energy Outage Center app on their iPhone or Android phone, or by calling 800-477-4747. 

8:26 p.m.: Another 1,055 DTE customers have lost power in Royal Oak after a second round of high winds pass through town.

According to the energy company's outage map, the new outages are south of Lincoln Avenue between Main Street and Campbell.

DTE estimates power to be restored in this area by 11:30 p.m. Monday.

According to the National Weather Service, the rest of the night will be very windy with gusts to 60 mph.

5:53 p.m.:
 More than 700 DTE customers are without power Sunday, after high winds rolled through the area just before 6 p.m.

According to the energy company's outage map, the outages are in the area north of 12 Mile Road and west of Crooks.

DTE expects power to be restored around 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
