Say it Ain't Snow: Here's Your Forecast

Scattered flurries in the forecast before 9 a.m.

Though the official start of winter (Dec. 21) is still about about six weeks away, our area is poised for scattered flurries Tuesday morning, according to weather.gov forecasts.

Though it’s unlikely that we’ll see any major accumulation (or any accumulation at all), this is a good opportunity to make sure you’re ready for winter weather.

The government site ready.gov suggests keeping the following on hand during winter storms:

  • Rock salt to melt ice on walkways.
  • Sand to improve traction.
  • Snow shovels and other snow removal equipment.
  • Sufficient heating fuel.
  • Adequate clothing and blankets to keep you warm.
