Sen. Al Franken Makes a Pit Stop in Royal Oak

Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) spent the Monday touring a local manufacturing plant before returning to Royal Oak for a reception at the home of Michael Chetcuti and Kyle Evans.

The "Road to Election" fundraiser was held to help the progressive senator fuel his reelection campaign. Franken, 62, has served Minnesota since 2009.

"We had a great evening exchanging views on workforce training in the high-tech manufacturing comeback," said Chetcuti.

Michigan's junior senator, Debbie Stabenow, joined Franken as a special guest.

"It was a great event," said John Davids. "(Franken) took questions from everybody and answered them with a lot of intelligence and some pretty good jokes, too."
