What's Closed on Martin Luther King Day in Royal Oak?
Most schools, state and federal offices are closed for the day, but not everything.
It's Martin Luther King Jr. Day, where some local schools, municipalities and community centers pay homage to the civil rights champion by closing their doors and stopping regular activities.
All state and federal offices will be closed on Monday, including the U.S. Post Office.
Most local banks and schools are also closed for the holiday.City Hall and the Royal Oak Public Library are open today, as is the Detroit Zoo, which is offering a discount of $2 off all regular-price admissions to the Detroit Zoo in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
