Winter Snow Warning in Effect; 5 to 8 Inches of Snow Expected

Snowfall rates could reach one inch per hour.

The Tri-County area is now under a winter storm warning as five to eight inches of snow is expected for much of the area.

Bands of heavy snow will persist over the region until midnight, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). 

Snow could fall at rates as high as one inch per hour, according to the NWS. Residents should avoid unnecessary travel.
