2012 Uptown Film Festival: The Schedule

More than 50 films will be screened during the three-day festival March 8-10 in Birmingham.

The kicks off Thursday at the and on March 8-10. Ticket sales for individual shows begin Thursday.

The festival, now in its second year, celebrates the Michigan film industry by honoring films made partly or entirely in Michigan. The festival will wrap up March 10 with the third annual Michigan Film Awards.

The Uptown Film Festival is presented in part with the Oakland County Film and Digital Media office, and part of the proceeds will benefit the Gleaners Food Bank and Defeat the Label, a national anti-bullying nonprofit organization.

The festival will also mark the world, Michigan and Metro Detroit premieres of several films, including Brothers on the Line and Detroit Winter. Machine Gun Preacher has been chosen as the spotlight film during the festival's annual charity gala March 9.
