5 Cool Things to Do This Weekend

Looking to get out of the house and have an evening on the town? There's always something going on in Royal Oak that is fun and inviting. Here are a few things that are happening this week.

1. Thursday at the , 118 N. Main St., catch one of four thought-provoking films. The films being featured are Somewhere, Casino Jack, I Love You Phillip Morris and Black Swan.  With the SAG and Academy award shows coming up, the downtown theater is the perfect place to catch up on the nominees. 2. Have a good laugh at , 310 S. Troy St., this weekend. Thursday through Saturday, Tom Segura will perform along with Connie Ettinger. Segura may be a familiar name as he has been featured on Showtime's Russell Peters Presents, Comedy Central's Live At Gotham! and BET's One Mic Stand.

3. On Friday evening, enjoy a decadent dinner at , 129 S. Main St., or stop in for some drinks and enjoy the music of Kroon. Kroon and the band's sound is melodic and relaxing – the perfect way to unwind after a hectic day. The band plays a mix of contemporary favorites, reggae and classic rock. 5. Light up Sunday night at , 1815 N. Main St., with one of Michigan's favorite party bands – the Killer Flamingos. Dance the night away to a high-energy blend of pop, rock and electronica between sets.
