As a part of the film project, all teams attended a meeting on the evening of July 20, when each film crew was assigned the genre their film had to represent, such as dark comedy or fantasy. Every team had to use the same character, prop and line of dialogue somewhere in its film (in this case: Dave or Diane Pellaton, president of something; apples; and “When did that happen?”).

Right after the meeting, film crews were given 48 hours to write, shoot, direct and edit a short film of no more than seven minutes.
