The December Michigan Mitten Project pits the Audience Choice Award winners from the past year against each other for the coveted 2010 Short of the Year Award.
Out of 177 shorts and trailers screened this past year, the field has narrowed to 14 shorts for this special night. And as a special thank you to the filmmakers, Curator Connie Mangilin has asked local independent artists to create custom-made Audience Choice Award certificates in their own style of art.
Local artists have all graciously donated their time (and talent) to create these awards -- pieces of art that the filmmakers will be able to take home with them at the end of the night (and hopefully cherish the rest of their filmmaking careers). Bringing together independent filmmakers and artists, the Best of the Mitten Movie Project is a convergence and celebration of independent art, and a fine example of the depth of talent in this area.
